The climate in Algeria
Algeria only has a Mediterranean climate along its Mediterranean coast. The summers are hot (33 °C) and dry. In winter it is mild (13 °C) and wet. It rains on average 120 mm per month during the winter. Close to coast are the Altlas mountains. Logically, it is cooler there than at the coast. Beyond the mountains is the savannah quickly followed by the desert. Temperatures there in the summer average 45 °C. The sirocco wind can literally blow buckets of sand in your face. In the winter it cools down to 25 °C. It is bone dry. The oasis village of In Salah gets up to 15 mm of rainwater per year.
