The climate in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso is situated in the heart of West Africa, about 600 kilometres away from the coast. The country lies in the tropical zone. The north is dry and is part of the Sahel region. Further south it gets greener and wetter. There is a savannah climate. Burkina Faso has two warm seasons, from February to June and October to December. The rainy season runs from June to September. Those who cannot handle the heat should travel during this period when it is 'only' 30 °C. Compared to April with an average of 39 °C.
