The climate in Chad
Chad is located in Central Africa, north of the equator. The south of Chad has a subtropical climate. It is hot. The temperature varies between 30 and 40 °C. The cooler rainy period in the southern savannah area is from May to October. Heading north it becomes ever increasingly warmer and drier. The land then becomes savannah and then desert savannah (Sahel) ending up in the desert (Sahara). Rain falls sporadically and only in the months of July and August. From April to September, the minimum temperature is 40 °C in the desert area.
