The climate in Namibia
Situated in south-west Africa, Namibia has a dry climate. It has the honour of having two different desert areas within its national boundaries. On the coast lies the Namib desert and in the east the outstretched sands known as the Kalahari. In between these is an elongated mountain plateau. The summer runs in the southern hemisphere from December to April. In the desert areas the mercury may rise to 45 °C. This also the season with most precipitation. The dry winter season, from May to October, is by far the best time to visit Namibia.
