The climate in Tanzania
Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa. It is located just below the equator and has for the largest part a tropical climate. On the coast and on the island of Zanzibar it is always humid and warm. Temperatures fluctuate between 27 and 32 °C. The best travel period is from June to October when it is dry and the least warm. In the southern and northern highlands, where Mount Kilimanjaro is, the mercury can drop to 12 °C. Tanzania has generally two rainy seasons: the small rain rainy season in November and December, and the big rainy season in March to April.
