The climate in Western Sahara

The Western Sahara, as the name says, is the western end of the Sahara desert on the Atlantic coast. The area is largely occupied by Morocco, but has been declared as an independent state with the official name of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. There is not much to do in this barren, sandy and rocky country. The hottest period runs from May to September when it is 40 °C or more. On the coast, the cool sea breeze offers some relief. This is also where most of the towns are situated. The northern part of the desert country overlooks the Canary Islands.
