The climate in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has a continental climate. The summers are hot and dry. In July the mercury rises to 30-35 °C. In the Caucasus, in the North, the temperatures are moderated by the altitude. In winter the mercury drops to around 5 degrees. At night it freezes, light to moderate. Most precipitation falls in the months of May, June and October. It never really gets wet in Azerbaijan. The forested south has the most precipitation. The central area is very dry. By the Caspian Sea it is often very windy.
