The climate in Bhutan
Bhutan has three separate climate areas. In the north, which borders China and lies in the Himalaya, there is a high mountain climate. There it is dry and cold. In the Himalayan valleys the climate is moderate. Summers are warm and the winters mild. The monsoon period runs from June to October. In the south the climate is subtropical. The rainy season here is often violent. Especially at night it can be very stormy. March and April are the best months to visit. Also late in the autumn, after the rainy season, is a good time to travel.
