The climate in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, also known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, is divided in two climate areas. Firstly, a tropical zone in the south-west where it always rains, and rains even more between April and July, and in October and November. The whole year the temperature remains around 30 °C. The east and north have a more subtropical climate. There the rainy season runs from October to February. The other months see a lot less rain. The warm season runs from May to October (35 °C).
