The climate in Switzerland
The Alps and the Jura make the climate in Switzerland interesting. In the hilly north summers are wet and at 22 °C, it is pretty cool. In winter the mercury stays a few degrees above zero. Behind the Jura it is dryer and warmer. In Geneva in summer it is 25 °C. On the north and west sides of the Alps there is most precipitation and in winter this falls in the form of snow. There are lots of ski slopes in this area. On the south side, near the border with Italy, it is slightly drier and warmer. Lugano even has a weak Mediterranean climate.
