The climate in Iran

Iran, which is wedged between Afghanistan and Iraq, has roughly speaking, a continental climate with large temperature variations between summer and winter. In summer it is hot: from June to August everywhere has more than 35 °C and is dry as a bone. In winter, in the mountainous north and west it is a lot colder than in the south: up to 5 °C during the day in the mountains compared to 20 °C in the South, which borders the Arabian Sea.
