The climate in Israel
The climate of Israel can roughly be divided in two parts. The north has a Mediterranean climate, the south a desert climate. In any case, summers in Israel are very dry and warm to very hot: in daytime it is more than 30 °C. In the southern Eilat the mercury in July and August even reaches 40 °C. In winter it is still in the south more than 20 °C. In the north and to the Mediterranean, temperatures are about 5 to 10 degrees lower. Most precipitation falls in the months of December and January.
