The climate in Turkey
Turkey is a large country with many different climate types. Around the Bosporus and in the Aegean and the Mediterranean regions it has a Mediterranean climate. The interior is in winter a lot colder than on the coast. It rains inland all year round, but in modest quantities. In the Mediterranean there is between December and March, each month between 100 and 200 mm. The extreme south, on the border with Syria and Iraq, is the warmest. In July there it is 40 °C.
