The climate in French Polynesia
French Polynesia lies far off in the Pacific Ocean. The sea is a moderating influence on the temperature. In summer, December to April, it is 28 °C during the day. In winter the mercury drops to around 22 degrees. It is less hot than other island groups located closer to Australia and at the same latitude. Rain falls throughout the year: every month there is more than 100 mm. The wettest months are November and December.
