The climate in New Zealand
New Zealand, which consists of the North Island, South Island and a number of smaller islets, has a temperate oceanic climate. The climate is a bit comparable to the climate in Western Europe: in summer around 20 degrees, in winter between 5 and 10 °C. Rain falls throughout the year. The far north has traits of a subtropical climate. There the temperature is a few degrees higher. In winter, June to September, it rains a lot more than in the other seasons.
